  • Here we are....it's where we're at.

Well, we made it down here to the Labolito's house fine. Mrs. Nita made us a wonderful dinner. I could not even dare to try to pronounce what it was but it was italian. It was pasta, and bacon, and onion and garlic and cheese and eggs. We had it with garlic bread. It was really nice. Vince and Julie came over with the boys, Anthony and Dante. Joe and Colleen came over with the girls, Alexis, Leanna and Isabella. They are so cute.

We did do some errands this morning. Went to CVS and got some of the monthly specials. Got Bobby a card so I can do it double time. IF I can keep straight who has bought what. Then we went to lunch at Longhorn where I had the shop. It went beautifully. IT was an awesome lunch.

And so here we are. We are going to go out yard selling in the morning. Wish us luck!!

  • errrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hate having to retype something through no fault of my own. I lost connection just as I was about to post my blog and lost the whole thing. That really burns me up. And there is absolutely nothing to be done about it.

Well, today was my lazy day. Not lazy lazy, but stay at home lazy. I have done the laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I did sleep in some, after Bobby left. He overslept and so when he finally did wake up, I got up to make his lunch to help him get going faster. He was only about 15 minutes late to work.

My friend Stacey nominated me for 'Cook of the Week' in our local newspaper. That was really cool.

I have a shop at Longhorn's tomorrow for lunch. After that we are headed down to the Labolito's to spend a day or two with them. I haven't seen Julie's baby in a while and I am quite anxious to see him. And everybody else, too!

Well, I think I will send this out before I lose it again.

  • It's been a long time

I know that it has been a long time since I've blogged. Oh, well. I've been quite busy. But now I have quit my everyday job and have a bit more time. I still do a paper route 2 days a week and with keeping up the house and running errands and all I still seem to keep busy. Things are going good. My friends Stacey and Fred moved down here from NYC. That has been quite exciting! I love Stacey to death and tolerate Fred.  Currently, I am holding one Rachael A Wilson, 1 month old. I am watching the kids for Colleen to go to a meeting. There is Noah, Josiah, Rachael and Lauren, the latter 2 are twins. All of them are sleeping now. Yeah!

I am thinking about starting a business. I had spoken to my sister about helping me with it, but right now she is very busy. When are we ever not?? But I don't have the skills she has and that I need for that part of what I want to do. Pray for me that I know what direction to take.

Well, this was a jump start. Perhaps I can get back on here more often now.

  • Homegoing

I have been hesitant to write on this because I knew how hard it would be. So please forgive the time lapse. On August 5th, my dear friend Mr. Clifford Rayburn went to be with Jesus.  I had woken to a clear Sunday morning. Gotten up and dressed before my husband, I was waiting to head to church when we realized something was wrong next door. Being the pure blooded southern born lady I am, I went over and went right inside. There I found that Mr. Clifford had at last won the battle he had been fighting for the last 9 months. How do you recount a miracle? How do you tell a story you still can't quite put all together? They had been our neighbors for about 12 years, but things were not always good. Alcohol and preachers don't usually mix and there was anomosity. But God laid it on dad's heart to BE a friend, to BE a neighbor. God knew what he had planned. Mr. Clifford became my gaurdian, my watch in the night. You had better not come in my yard or you might meet a white haired country man with a gun! I never worried living there alone. Mr. Clifford heard everything. If I needed anything all I had to do was holler. If I needed milk, Mrs. Sara always has plenty. It soothed my heart just to hear that old lawn mower going 'cause I knew he was looking over things. Last May, they came to church. I thought that was a miracle. Little did I know.  Mr. Clifford was asked many times didn't he want to trust Christ. He said "I will", but kept putting it off. Finally he told preacher that the next Sunday he would come and be saved. Now how many times have you heard that? But sure enough the next Sunday morning he walked to the alter and said he was ready. My husband Bobby had the privalage of leading him to the Lord! This picture is that day. How rare it is for an older person to come to Christ. Most have hardened their hearts so by that time, they can't hardly let Him in. But Mr. Clifford had had a family that had been praying for him for many decades, and he had a neighbor who decided he would take the first step. Mr. Clifford found out in November that he had cancer and he had it bad. His faith never waivored. It was witnessed that he told his doctors over and over that he was okay, he had gotten saved. Sure, it was hard. His poor feet swolled up so bad he couldn't hardly stand but he'd come to church and prop them up. That last thursday Sara had called with the good news that all his cancer was gone but just a litte marble sized piece. He was so thrilled to have a clean bill of health. He was going to come and get baptized. We had just gotten new pews and he was going to surprise the preacher and be there that Sunday morning. But God had prepared a better seat for him. He took him simply and easily. He allowed him to speak to his wife before he went that morning. How good is our God! I believe He may have even had him a John Deer lawn mower waiting on him as Mr. Clifford sure did love to cut that grass. I'll miss you Mr. Clifford, but I'll see you soon!

  • Vacation

Well, we are in the great state of Indiana!! We left home Friday afternoon and began the trip. Took it fairly easy. Stopped in Bowling Green, KY to sleep a few hours at a rest stop. Then we got back on the road and realized we were right near two National State Parks. One was Mammoth Cave and the other was Abraham Lincoln's birthplace. We are wanting to hit as many of those as we can so decided to go. Got to Mammoth Cave early so we went to breakfast in the hotel there. It was great, just didn't have any Grits!! We took an hour tour through part of the cave. That was really neat. Then we headed on to Abe L.'s birthplace. That was nice too. A little difficult because they are doing a lot of road work and the whole town was torn up. But we liked that as well. Got to Indy and took a quick shower. We met up with Jenn and Brandon and went to this awesome restraunt, Bravo. I had been there before and knew I liked it. Jenn had set up with her parents to meet us for supper but they didn't know we were coming. It was very neat to surprise them. I had not seen them since 2000. Church was good today. We went to Jenn's church, Lighthouse Baptist Church. They run about 500 so it was a little larger than what we are used to!!

Mom said church at home went well. One little boy got saved and my friend Lucretia brought her Mother in law with her to church. That was cool.

Oh, well, we are going to hit the hay. We are going to the Indy Zoo tomorrow. Yipee!@!
